There are so many things to think about as you plan your wedding.   Below are
some answers to questions you might have; please call if you have others!

Cheers,

How much time do you allow for our wedding?

Pretty much all day! Whenever possible, we start the day with pictures of you getting your hair done. If the guys are out golfing, we'll try to catch some scenes there too! As the wedding hour approaches, we'll be there early. If you wish, we'll capture some moments in the dressing room, such as shots of your dress being laced up, and the shoes slipping on. For the reception, we'll be sure to catch all the important moments: cake cutting, first dance, bouquet toss, garter toss, etc.

How many pictures do you take? Do I get a copy of the files?

Back in the days of film it was typical for a wedding photographer to take about 100 - 150 unique pictures. We take as many pictures as we need to tell the complete story about your day. How many is that? A large format, 40-page wedding album might feature as many as 160 photos. We've found that providing you with 400 to 500 unique, fully edited images makes a great selection for an awesome storybook album! And most of our packages include a DVD of all edited pictures, ready to print!

Do you have backup equipment during my wedding?

Good cameras are very reliable, so fortunately we've never had a problem with equipment failure! But just in case, we always have extra equipment on hand, and can easily continue photographing your day. In addition, we always have two photographers shooting your ceremony, so we have you covered!

Your photo gallery looks great on my computer at work, but not so good at home. What's going on?

Computer monitors do vary in quality and/or adjustment, and so we see problems like this. But before you toss your monitor in the recycling bin, check the brightness and contrast settings using  this calibration picture as a reference. If you can see all 32 boxes, then your monitor is close, although the color could still off. We work on your photos using monitors that have been calibrated using special tools and software. This means the picture we see on our screen has accurate colors and brightness.

Do you also do family and senior portraits?

Yes we do, but it can be tricky booking these sessions during the busy wedding months! To provide our clients with the best wedding coverage, our main focus is on weddings during the spring and summer months. However, many of our wedding clients do call us later for family portraits, or refer us to friends for senior portaits. We are always happy to see you again, to catch some great photos for you - give us a call and we'll let you know how the schedule looks!

We don't want to see each other before the ceremony. Can we take some pictures before, and some after?

Yes, we often do this, so that's really not a problem if you want to do your photos that way! But keep in mind you'll be busy and distracted after the ceremony, but as long as the guests know what's going on everything will be fine.

Alternatively, we can set up a "first sight" photo for you, where just the two of you see each other with nobody else around. A fun way to do this is to have the groom wait in a special place, and the bride walks up from behind and taps him on the shoulder. We'll be there to photograph this special moment!

My friend told me about 'Trash the Dress'. Can we do that too?

Sure thing! This has become a popular thing to do, and we'd happy to set up a session for you.

What should we wear during our engagement photo session? Where should we go for the photos?

A great portrait generally draws your eye right to the subject's smiling faces. Such pictures will have good lighting, with backgrounds that are not busy and cluttered. And the clothing is often a solid color, and maybe darker than the subject's face(s). That means bright colors and crazy patterns are not your first choice of clothing. OK, those are the typical rules. But we recognize that your clothing can be an important reflection of your personality, so if you like bright and bold, we encourage you to bring along one or two outfit changes, and you can decide later which pictures you like best! The only thing we would suggest is to avoid short sleeves and bare legs for family photo sessions: such attire can create a real tangle of arms and legs, making those smiles invisible! ;>)

As for location, most of our couples enjoy outside settings in a location that suites their personality. Some of the local parks offer a great variety of settings. We can also catch some interesting urban "street" shots downtown if you'd like --- street cafes, coffee shops, even some of the alleys can make for interesting settings.

Isn't it hard to take photos at these different locations?

Not at all. We can meet at some initial location, and from there we can hop into the "Urban Suburban" and drive to other locations, stopping for photos most anywhere you'd like! This is especially convenient and fun on your wedding day too!

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept online payments using credit cards. This service is offered through our verified business account with Paypal, and is a fast and secure payment method. And you do NOT have to be a Paypal account holder!

Can we view our proofs online? How soon will they be ready?

Yes, you can see your proofs at our online proof site. Normally your proofs will be ready in about a week!
